script file, on the SurfStatsLive Server that you can edit and run. The following IIS script
commands are available to use in IIS Scripts:
AddGroup – which adds a profile group.
AddProfAdmin – which makes the specific user the profile administrator for the profile
group. Each profile group can only have one profile administrator. No need to create
account for profile administrator anywhere else.
AddProfile – adds a profile to the specified profile group.
DelGroup – removes a profile group, the profile administrator and the site profile(s) in the
profile group.
To generate a script click Generate IIS Server Script on the Profile Groups tab, select a server,
a filename and a default administrator name. The default administrator name is the default
name of the profile administrator of all groups, which can be changed later by editing the
script file of after execution on the Profiles tab. Click the Generate Export Script to generate
the script file. After generation the script file can be edited with a text editor.
Executing IIS Scripts
After an IIS script has been created and edited you can execute it by clicking Execute IIS
Script on the Profile Groups tab. Please note that the number of registered log sources will
limit the number of profiles imported. The evaluation version of SurfStatsLive allows only 100
log sources.
Non IIS Web Servers
Note that you can edit a script file and change the log source(s) of a profile/profile group to
point to a Non-IIS web server on Windows or other operating systems as long as the log files
can be accessed. Then with Executing IIS Scripts you can execute the script file and it will
generate the profile groups etc. with the log sources pointing at the location specified.

Log in as a Server Adminstrator.
On the Profile Groups tab click Generate LiveStats

Export Script on the left. You would
need to specify where LiveStats

was installed and the filename of the script file that
SurfStatsLive will create. SurfStatsLive will create only one script file from all the
LiveStats

XML profile files. Note that this filename will be generated on the server, not
your local computer.
Click the link Load LiveStats

Details. It will take the data from all the LiveStats

profile files, scan for the different LiveStats

collectors present in the LiveStats

and create a list of collectors, the path of the LiveStats

collector and what to replace it
with in the SurfStatsLive script file. The UNC names in the Replace with... column would
need to be edited if the log files should be collected from other computers. Specify it as
shown in the example on the page. You can also replace the machine name in the UNC
path with an IP address. Use UNC names and not mapped drives.
